Between Semesters

Currently, I’m in between semesters. One week until I start my digital forensics course. Although, I have taken some mental time off and focused on other things. This last week before the class opens, it is time to start getting back into the routine and schedule. My plan is to:

  • Start the course on digital forensics through Cybrary.
  • Get my physical workspace at home more organized. It is an unholy disaster!
  • Do some review from past semesters – SQL, VB, and security +
  • Cybersecurity self-study course through the Cisco academy.
  • Professional branding (Linkedin, blog, etc).

Ambitious? Sure. It seems unlikely that I will get all of this done. However, it is more to get me back into a structured, scheduled routine. This semester and this year, one of my goals are to be more organized. Not because I want to, but I need to be.

Hopefully, scheduling things on Google Calendar and tasks will assist with this.

I have achieved an MS in performance improvement and training and development from Northern Michigan University (NMU). Currently, I’m working towards an MS in information systems and cyber security through Central Michigan University (CMU). My interests are cyber security, social engineering, security and small business, network and physical security, and cyber security in the property management industry. I would like to combine the two areas of performance improvement and cyber security. This blog reflects that as well as defending against the dark art (and science) of cyber-attacks and current issues in the field.
