This is my week two reflection post from BIS523 Cyber Crime Forensics. The reflections post are part of my weekly requirements. Posting the reflections here will also help be more consistent in my blog output as well.
For the second week, I feel things are going well with the class. I’m about week ahead on the labs. At there point, for there are a few advantages. First, I will (ideally) be ahead of everything. For example, next week I have an organizational event and my daughter has a Science Olympiad meet. So, I’ll have a little less time next weekend. Like many (in the class), I’m an adult learner with competing priorities. Second, I feel that by “shot gunning” the labs, I’m getting more familiar with the program and what they are capable of. Like Word or Onesite Real Page (property management software), I’m using it daily and feeling more confident with it. This might be akin to language immersion. Also, I have been doing the vocabulary flash cards and quiz on the app. I can do them anywhere, work break, while the kid is at karate, or merging on to I-75 at 70 mph! I’m kidding on the last one.
I’m learning, but somethings, I’m ashamed to admit, but in the “past” ….
- I haven’t always read the course announcements frequently. I’m learning to do this. It is helpful.
- In the labs, I didn’t know that the answers were found in the summary. I had used a “crude trial and error method.” It was effective, but time consuming.
- I haven’t always set a plan for the course. If possible, it is very important to get ahead early on. This makes everything so much easier at the end, or so I keep the faith in this idea.
Overall, I feel good about the course and the direction things are heading.
